KHMER ADVENTIST LANGUAGE SCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF NSW INC.


1. Background


The Khmer Adventist Language School of NSW Inc. is a non-profitable organisation. It is recognised by government and non government organisations for the Khmer people and those that want to learn Khmer and are living in New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 14th April 1991.


2. Objectives


The objectives of the Khmer Adventist Language School of NSW of Inc. are:

  • To teach the Khmer language to the Khmer people and other interests who are wanting to learn or live in harmonising Culturally And Linguistically Diverse communities.
  • To develop and maintain a harmonious community within the school environment and towards general community.
  • To preserve and promulgate the Khmer language and culture.
  • To assist and promote tolerance and love within students and their families through Khmer language school environment.
  • To assist in helping students to incorporate the Khmer and the Australian cultural harmonisations.
  • To empower Khmer community to proactively anticipate themselves and other members in decisionmaking that are involving their lives and wellbeing in Australian society.


3. Home and School


Parents and School Committees help to encourage and promote good home and school environment by demonstrating their good role models from personal conduct to Khmer language usage in everyday conversation. In order to encourage and promote good learning environment, parents and School would need to take initiative and active role to work altogether in the language education. Education is a cooperative effort.
